Its so hard taking a photo with 6 people in it at an arms length away. We were squished and sunburned.

Kathy, Cory, CJ, Eric, Me and Travis. Cory and Travis are my boys. Kathy is CJs mom. You all know Eric, I think.

We had such a good time. It was hotter than, well, hot. We were sunburned, but smiling. It was just a great day. Dont let the look on Corys face fool you. He hates his photo taken.

There is another photo I want to post, but Im not sure what Eric would say. He has shorts on. Yes, it was hot enough that the man bought a pair of shorts. He picked them out all by himself and he looked cute. OH, and a swimsuit. I have a photo of that too. WANNA SEE???? I love you, honey.

I waited a year to go to this race. The week was cut short by my Grandmas passing, so we didnt get to do everything we normally do. Find drivers, get photos, drive around town and look for their cars on display. The week was a whirlwind of activity. I know that I will have next year and years to come, so whats one race? Im already counting down to next year!

Im not going to make any comments off of what Eric blogged. Hes so very 'green' when it comes to NASCAR. Its just not his thing, and Im ok with that. He stated he wants to go again next year, but not go to a race. He wants to sit in the parking lot while we are at the race. lol. Theres not much to do during the race while sitting in your car. Ive been there, done that. It sucked! He has 358ish days to change his mind.

Last year, Kathy and I met some of the most awesome people parked next to us. We ended up tailgating with them for the next 3 races. (there are 4 races a year at Chicagoland) This year we hooked up with them again. We actually got tickets with them so we all sat together. It was great to see them. We enjoyed each others company, good food and a few beers. We have already made plans to 'hook up' again for the September races. Cant wait!

Eric did well at his first race. We went to see a little bit of practice, and I dont think hes ever heard anything as loud as the cars zooming by. The sound doesnt bother me, its a rush! The sound is similar to a fighter jet flying overhead at about 100 yards. Its amazing! I got him some earplugs and he said it helped.

Eric took some amazing photos as well, but Im not sure if he has posted them or not. He got a new camera while he was here, because he forgot his at home. Personally I think it was just an excuse to get a new camera. I took pictures and so did Kathy. It seems I can never have enough photos of my Dale Jr.

I took this photo at the Saturday night race. The sky was amazing. I like this photo with the cars coming out of turn 4. I have about 10 more similar to this. The sky kept getting redder and redder. My God, it was amazing...

OK....I have decided that I shouldnt add photos to my blog. I had to call Eric for tech support. And after his support, this stupid thing isnt doing what I want it to do. It looks good here, but when I preview it, BLAH!

So anyway, I could go on and on about the weekend, but I think Im done. Im so glad that Eric got to go with us. It was an unexpected surprise to get him a ticket. I think he enjoyed himself. I know that he would say that he did because he was with me. Hes so sappy like that.

Until next time.

Peace out...

The photos are wonderful. I'd love to see you add more of them, even if they are of me in shorts.
The sight of my legs migth scare small children.

And yes, I was happy to be there with you...
