Hi.

Eric made it here yesterday. He no sooner got here and we went to my girlfriends house for a cookout. He thinks Im finally showing him off.

We had a wonderful time playing bags, talking, eating and enjoying a roaring fire. We didnt see the local fireworks. I think after 40 years, they all look the same. It wasnt really discussed if we wanted to watch them or not. Eh, there is always next year.

I absolutely loved the comments left on Erics blog about the cow/horse. We are going to go and find that animal here in a little while. I will make an attempt to post the photo here later.

White with brown spots. Sounds kinda like a cow to me. You say cat, but it could be cow. Does it say Meow or Moo?

Eric played bags for the first time yesterday. Bags. Two boards 20 feet apart with a hole in the middle. 4 bean bags per team, tossed into the hole for points. He was ok. Not sure how many points he got, but it was another first for him.

Today we are going to my brothers for a cookout. Should be fun. My brother is a man of few words. His wife says enough for 2 though. Nothing wrong with that. They met Eric a few visits back, but really didnt have a chance to talk. I know it will be different this time.

My gram is still with us. I know I havent said much about her, but there is nothing really to report. She has gone downhill rapidly. The hospice nurse said it should be a matter of days, if not, hours. We thought she was going to pass yesterday, but her heart still beats. Strong woman.

Today my brother and I picked out her outfit. One less thing to do. Not that there is much 'to' do. All of her funeral arrangements have been made ahead of time. Thankfully.

I dont have much more to report. Im enjoying Eric. I missed him. I will be sure to report on anymore cow/horse sightings.

BTW.....Rene commented on eating horse. Well, my hometown is the location of the last horse slaughtering plant in the U.S. Something else to be proud of living here. Im not sure if it is still running as they have been trying to close it. Yes, I said trying. They open and close quite often.

Im on my way to the shower and then a drive in the country. Hope everyone had a happy 4th.

Peace Out.....

Guess it's gonna a mixed bag kinda visit for Eric this time. In spite of your grandma passing away I hope you will get to spend some fun time together.

Most of my family comes from a little town that is/was famous for horse meat. At one point there were three horse slaugherhouses, but now there is but one and there's only 2 butchers where you can get horse sausage.
